Nike Hoop Summit at Moda Center

The Nike Hoop Summit is an international all-star men’s basketball event organized annually. Sponsored by Nike, the event brings in USA Basketball Men’s Junior Select Team to compete with global players. The first-ever Nike Hoop Summit was held in 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts. However, since 2008, the event has been held in Portland, Oregon.

The event is the perfect venue for players to show off their skills and catch the attention of numerous NBA and college scouts. The event features 12 top-recruited players selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee. Head coach, Joe Mantegna, leads the team and assistant coaches, Scott Fitch and Chet Mason.

USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley expressed his excitement for 2022’s Nike Hoop Summit. “USA Basketball is excited to continue the Nike Hoop Summit tradition in its longtime home of Portland. The game offers fans and scouts the opportunity to see future stars in a competitive and entertaining environment. We welcome some of the best athletes from across the country and around the world.”

The Summit has been known to host NBA’s upcoming young stars as some of the players went on to become number 1 overall NBA Draft picks, such as John Wall, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Andrew Wiggins, Karl Anthony Towns, and many more.

Aside from number 1 picks, 35 NBA All-Stars and NBA MVPs, including Kevin Garnett, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Dirk Nowitzki, and Derrick Rose, have participated in past events.
