Aussie psychedelic rock outfit Tame Impala (the brainchild of Kevin Parker, which also features Dominic Simper on guitar and synthesizer, and members of Australian psychedelic rock band Pond, when performing as a live act) has teamed up with indie pop musician Perfume Genius for a joint tour! The two acts will be performing a co-headlining show Moda Center on Monday Sunday 12th September 2021 (Rescheduled from Monday 2nd August 2021), where both artists will be bringing new material to the stage! Tame Impala will be playing songs from the long-awaited new album The Slow Rush!
Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker started his psychedelic rock project, Tame Impala, in Perth in 2007. The writer, producer, performer and engineer of the project, he signed a worldwide record deal with independent label Modular Recordings in 2008 and proceeded to release several several singles and EPs over the next few years, culminating with Tame Impala's debut album, Innerspeaker, which was released in 2010. The album was well received by critics and was certified gold in Australia. Parker had continued success with its follow-up, Lonerism (2012), which earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album and was certified platinum in Australia. Both Lonerism and his subsequent album, Currents (2015), won ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. Currents' first track, "Let It.Happen", also won the APRA Award for Song of the Year 2016.
