In 1999, youth pastor Mark Hall of the First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, initiated a music group composed of students who aim to worship through band music and songs. In 2001, they decided to relocate to Georgia and recruited Christian musician members that would become full-fledged members of "Casting Crowns". In that same year, they released their self-titled debut album. In 2003, their first official studio album was released. It sparked some mainstream attention and success, selling about 2 million copies and reached top places on the Billboard charts with the singles “Who Am I” and “Voice of Truth”. In 2005, they bagged a Grammy win for “Best Contemporary Gospel Album of the year” for the album "Lifesong". In 2010, Casting Crowns also took home a Dove Award for Artist of the Year. Over and above all these, the band goes on an extensive touring schedule in various cities, states, and global performances as well.
