This fall, the final leg of the unique world tour that has seen the Icelandic post-rockers collaborating with local orchestras under the masterful baton of acclaimed conductor Robert Ames, is coming to shore in North America. The ethereal performances are slated to kick off in early November 2025 in San Diego, California, breezing through multiple major venues before wrapping up at the end of November 2025 in Mexico City, Mexico. It is everything you could possibly want and more - from favorites from across their extensive catalogue such as Svefn-g-englar, Starálfur, Glósóli, Hoppípolla, and Ekki Múkk, to beloved hits from their 2023 studio album, Átta, and various songs from their fourth studio album, Takk….
Even though Sigur Rós’ usual performances are more electric-driven, the orchestral approach casts a whole new light on their post-rock-meets-dream-pop sounds. It’s literally music that surpasses the visual - it’s joyous and delicate - an absolutely immersive wave of sound that promises to leave heads and hearts full.
From the magnificent study in perfect sound, Von, and the serene Andvari, to the wafting strings and melancholic piano of Varðeldur, from the spiritual, yet somber and slightly hymnal Ylur and the joy of Sé Lest to the captivating Vaka, enigmatic frontman Jónsi Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm, and multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson are bound to engulf audiences with a sonic experience that surpasses anything they have ever experienced before.
