Since Carti dropped Music earlier this year he’s been popping out non stop - on tour with The Weeknd all summer long, one of the highest selling and charting hip hop albums of the year in a CROWDED field, AND keeping it lowkey as hell. Carti’s forever mysterious internet glaze definitely worked out for him - but lucky for us, we get to see him in the flesh as he gives us this uber special show hitting the city for you and I. Playboi Carti is a rapper, songwriter, and cultural force who was born in Atlanta in the mid-90s, and while his catalog might not be the longest in the rap game, but his music is loaded with atmosphere, distortion, and a kind of hypnotic chaos that only Carti can summon. His ad-libs alone have shifted the sound of an entire generation — studied, mimicked, chopped into memes — but never really duplicated - especially now with his dramatic voice change. Not with the same rawness, not with the same power - there’s no one like Carti. He came up in the mid-2010s, a SoundCloud kid turned superstar, and less than a decade later Carti is the crown prince of rage rap, the anti-hero at the center of the underground gone mainstream. To be a Carti fan is to be tapped into a world of energy, fashion, rebellion, and pure vibe. He’s the soundtrack for nights that blur together, the feeling of sprinting through neon streets with your crew, the chaos and euphoria of youth turned all the way up.
