The Black Keys

Moda Center at the Rose Quarter

Blues rock duo The Black Keys are making their way to Portland in Oregon this fall! They’re bringing their INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS TOUR to the Moda Center on Wednesday 2nd October 2024. The Ohio natives have been making waves in the music scene since forming in 2001, and they're showing no signs of slowing down!

This trek comes hot off the heels of their 12th studio album, ‘Ohio Players,’ released on April 5 via Easy Eye Sound. As you can expect, this brand new mixtape is full of bluesy swagger and features a host of special guests. “What we wanted to accomplish with this record was make something that was fun. And something that most bands 20 years into their career don’t make, which is an approachable, fun record that is also cool,” says drummer Patrick Carney.

Secure your place today and party to new hits like the groovy “Don’t Let Me Go” and euphoric “Beautiful People (Stay High)” this fall!

The four-time Grammy-winning group The Black Keys have unveiled a brand new record, ‘Ohio Players,’ ahead of this year’s INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS TOUR. This is the guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach’s and drummer Patrick Carney’s 12th studio album. In true The Black Keys fashion, ‘Ohio Players’ is a soulful collection of tunes from the celebrated, Blues rock duo. As you can expect from their epic catalog, it’s full of bluesy swagger and features a host of special guests. The mixtape opener “This Is Nowhere” starts things off with a slick groove, meanwhile “Don’t Let Me Go” almost sounds like it emerged from 1976. The Black Keys have also treated fans to other pre-release tunes, including the euphoric “Beautiful People (Stay High)” and “I Forgot to Be Your Lover,” a rehashed version of a song originally penned by Memphis soul icon William Bell. “We’d never worked harder to make a record. It’s never taken us this long to make an album. We took our time and did it right,” says Dan Auerbach about ‘Ohio Players.’ “What we wanted to accomplish with this record was make something that was fun. And something that most bands 20 years into their career don’t make, which is an approachable, fun record that is also cool,” added Patrick Carney.

Originally a raw, visceral blues-rock group inspired by the sounds of juke joint rockers like Junior Kimbrough, the Black Keys are always expanding their sound. From garagey roar in 2004 with ‘Rubber Factory’ to the rollicking ‘Dropout Boogie’ in 2022, there’s never been a dull moment with the duo. Formed in Ohio, the rockers dropped their debut album in 2002 with the acclaimed ‘The Big Come Up,’ and built on that success throughout the years by experimenting into heady psychedelic territory. In 2010, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney released their biggest album yet, the platinum-selling ‘Brothers,’ generating smash hits like "Tighten Up," "Howlin' for You," and "Next Girl." Now, it’s your unique chance to catch these tracks live and more at the Moda Center this fall! The Black Keys will be bringing you their tough blues roots with a new grandness.
